How to stop that urge

This is a very difficult question and a complex thing to do.
How do you stop that urge??
I have had tough times in my life trying to achieve this but nay couldn't quite got there.
How do you really stop?
I want to go to some 'x' movie but at the same time I have a class to attend.
Will you skip your class for the movie? Often people do things on instincts;
But it really hurts you deeply inside if you don't want to do something you are forced to do.
For eg: your mom/dad asked you to go to a store and get onions while you are watching a WWE match between Rock and Steve Austin!!!
Obviously it hits you hard; you can feel it in your stomach;
What is it that hits you? Ofcourse its our ego; but how do you stop it?
I really want to find out what is it that kicks our brain and makes us stubborn?

another eg:
I want to play football today and I am determined to do; The plumber told me that he would be at exactly the same time;
Its difficult to get that plumber's appointment and there are no one available as its a holiday;
What do you do? you would be dejected and obviously misses your match cursing the plumber.
How to calm our ego during instances like the above? I never really got an answer;
For people who show their anger right on the face its easy; they shout at their friends or parents or whoever stops them from doing or whoever are near by during those times and after a few minutes or hours they would be normal;
But what about those who don't show their anger or dejection at that instant like me?
It kills you inside;

Why do humans have Ego? what is this feeling?
What if we don't have Ego; it means you would never really feel bad or good; Is it possible?
I don't think so;
Having no ego means having no identity; you won't be identified by a specific characteristic or a behaviour; its indeed difficult to live without having an identity and hence we all have ego.

What we all try to do is how to satisfy our ego ; means how to not hurt our ego?
What if we are cool and calm and take anything we get without complaining or fighting for more;
That is indeed difficult; For innovators, trailblazers and researchers, they obviously should question the inevitable and that's how they reach greater heights and find new things;
So Ego is good in some instances and bad in some other.

Satisfying your ego sometimes can hurt others while not doing what you wanted to do hurt you more; A balance is needed and that's what makes a person divine.
I believe that a person who balances his ego is close to god.

A different thought on the same subject: Its good if we can get an alert as soon as our ego is hurt and then our body cools it automatically; then you won't feel bad and you won't let others down; I really want scientists to probe and find a good device which cools our ego and anger automatically;
So there won't be any heart patients in the near future and no wars on the earth.

Happy Egoing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
